Signs Your Pet May Need Emergency Care
If you are unsure whether your pet is experiencing an emergency, we encourage you to seek care right away or contact a nearby emergency hospital for guidance.
More specifically, if your pet is showing any of the following symptoms, we recommend seeking emergency veterinary care as soon as possible:
- Difficulty breathing or persistent coughing
- Collapse, weakness, or inability to stand
- Seizures or sudden disorientation
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea, especially with blood
- Signs of pain, such as whining, trembling, or restlessness
- Trauma, including being hit by a car or a fall
- Ingestion of toxins or foreign objects
- Pale gums or excessive bleeding
- Difficulty urinating or defecating
- Sudden changes in behavior or extreme lethargy
If something doesn’t feel right, it’s always best to err on the side of caution and have your pet evaluated right away.
